About Us

Our main objective is to do everything we can to help people help the environment.
We aim to bring our community together, offering a personal, friendly service and giving customers the opportunity to support our local business whilst significantly reducing their carbon footprint as we source products locally.
We will donate 10% of our profits to planting trees to clean the air and restore balance as well as ensuring that we remain carbon neutral.
Our ethos is this: Eat Fresh, Think Green.

National Forest

According to the Office for National Statistics (2019), greenhouse gas emissions have fallen from 1990 to 2017 for every sector apart from households; ‘who are now the biggest contributors of carbon emissions’. The current lockdown situation seems to have resolved this issue not only with quieter roads and consequently a noticeable improvement in air quality but also a greater enjoyment of our outdoor environment as we begin to see the effect on flora and fauna.
At Green Tomato, we are committed to ensuring we all play a part in a greener, cleaner future for generations to enjoy. It is the responsibility of all in our community to come together to change our behaviour. Not only to revert climate change but also the extensive impact on our environment such as loss of biodiversity; mass extinction; deforestation; air pollution and over-use of fossil fuels. We are intent on eliminating carbon emissions completely from all our business activities and are supporting The National Forest by donating 10% of our profits to this cause to help us achieve this.
The National Forest has, for over 25 years, been working to create a new wooded landscape for the nation across 200 square miles of the Midlands. Planting trees and managing new woodlands is only part of the story; restoration of habitats, hedgerows and enabling the planting of trees in towns, villages and gardens all contribute to this new forest landscape. The National Forest is creating new woodlands that are accessible for people to enjoy and benefit from. We all benefit from clean air, improved water quality and a sustainable forest for our future generations.
Green Tomato fully supports The National Forest as we work together towards our mutual goal of a green economy. This can only be achieved by collaborating with local communities to create a sustainable future that is not built at the cost of the Earth; a crucial step needed to clean our air and restore our balance.
