What is your view on sustainability?

David Attenborough’s programme ‘Climate Change – The Facts’ is a must watch for everyone – whether you are interested in climate change or not. https://www.bbc.co.uk/iplayer/episode/m00049b1/climate-change-the-facts

The message is conveyed succinctly and very powerfully – we are running out of time and we need to make significant changes to the way we live right now.

The extent of damage we have caused to our environment is quite overwhelming and I think this is the reason why many of us have not made enough of an effort to change our behaviour. In fact, there are many things each of us can do very easily, for example reduce the amount of meat and dairy in our diet, reduce food waste, walk, cycle or take public transport more often and invest in better insulation in our homes (which will also save us money!).

Why did you join Green Tomato?

As a Science teacher, I am aware of the effects of greenhouse gas emissions on our environment and ways we can reduce these harmful emissions. I wanted to help people make small changes to reduce their carbon footprint and started work on a business plan for Green Tomato. We have consequently saved thousands of trips to the supermarket, many tonnes of plastic bags and helped reduce food waste with our ‘no minimum order’ policy. We are hoping to reach ‘net zero’ very soon and will start work on our decarbonisation plan to reach ‘net positive’ by 2030.

What is your view on sustainability?

Our planet is at a critical tipping point and a sustainable lifestyle would help reverse the damage we have already done. Small steps taken by individuals will make big inroads into making a difference. Legislation from Governments and real commitment is also needed.

What is your view on sustainability?

Sustainability is something we should all be aware of and strive to make at least small changes to help turn the tide on the environmental impact we have had as a species.

What we really need is world leaders, big corporations and then in turn governments to do more to address the balance.

What is your view on sustainability?

We definitely need to reduce our emissions to keep the air clean and save our environment. Pollution is causing temperatures to rise, affecting plant and animal life.

I’ve made changes such as the way I travel to work. I use my scooter or bike to ensure there are no emissions.

Why did you join Green Tomato?

Green Tomato help the community and make changes to the air by using their emission free float.
